What type of coverage can we help you with?

two aliens in a car

Even though Game of Thrones is over (don’t get us started on that ending), it still isn’t finished bringing its viewers joy (or misery!). According to the New York Post, an insurance company in the UK is offering a “spoiler” coverage for viewers of the show. The policy offers financial compensation for those who had the plot ruined. Claims must be filed in 100 words or less and be specific on how the plot was spoiled. Evidence is encouraged as well.

While we at PLR like the idea of some devastated fan getting compensation for spoilers, this struck us as a pretty strange policy. And it got us thinking about what other kind of strange policies are out there.

So, after doing a little research, here’s PLR’s list of strange insurance policies!

Alien Abduction Insurance

According to The Balance, several companies offer insurance in case of extra-terrestrial visitors. While some present their policy as a joke, others seem to be presenting it seriously. Even more interesting, some of these companies have actually paid out claims!

Body Part Insurance

We saw this one come up a lot! More often than not, famous people will take out an expensive policy on a body part that makes them money. This includes Keith Richard’s hands (insured for $1.6 million), Bruce Springsteen’s voice (insured for $4.4 million), and soccer star David Beckham’s legs (insured for $195 million).

Multiple Birth Insurance

Having twins, triplets, or even quadruplets can be a big surprise. That’s why one insurance company offers multiple birth insurance. The policy is purchased by expecting parents and provides a little extra income in cases of surprise multiple births.

Insurance from PLR

While these policies are fun and interesting, in truth, we think insurance is serious business.  At PLR, we believe that everyone's insurance needs are not the same. Because of that, our approach to insurance begins with a conversation; we want to learn about you--your life, your home, your needs. We use that information and our expertise to match you with the policy that gives you the coverage and peace of mind you need, without busting your bank account.

If you are ready to start the conversation, you can get in touch with us here.
