What type of coverage can we help you with?

While there isn’t exactly an abundance of bodies of water in the Bloomington-Normal area, recreational boating is permitted on Lake Bloomington through the use of the boat ramp located in Hubbard Park. Despite the ease with which the public can access it, not everyone in the area is familiar with Lake Bloomington.

Young Mother Takes First Trip to Lake Bloomington

Amelia Foster first heard about Lake Bloomington through a friend. Her two young children—Josh and Sara—love water related activities.

“During the summer, the three of us spend a LOT of time at the public pool,” Amelia said. “They both are obsessed with water and boats, so I decided to look around for a nice place to fish and boat.”

It was after she asked one of friends about available lakes that she first heard about Lake Bloomington.

“Josh, Sara, and I took a trip to Hubbard Park. I thought it was absolutely gorgeous, and I couldn’t stop thinking about how it would make a great spot for the kids and I to go fishing!”

Amelia quickly found a boat to take her children fishing. However, she had apprehensions.

“As we were driving the boat home, John was playing with his little toy boat and pirate figurine. He kept talking about how his pirate was going to get shipwrecked because of a storm. It started to make me a little a little nervous, not because I thought the lake was unsafe, but because I had spent quite a bit of money on the boat!”

Get Your Boat Insured with PLR

To help ease her nervousness, Amelia talked to a PLR agent about getting her boat insured.

“They’d been so helpful in making sure our home and cars are insured, I figured I would drop by to ask about my new boat. They were SO helpful. The  information seemed confusing at first, but after the agent got done explaining it to me, I understood it completely.”

Under Amelia’s policy, she can be reimbursed if her boat gets damaged in a variety of situations – including a storm.

“I just feel so much better about everything,” Amelia said. “Thanks to PLR, I can relax when I take my kids fishing!”
